Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

My Thoughts:

Friends, It could not be much plainer to me. The Congress of the first 13 United States of America delivered the aforementioned Declaration on July 4th, 1776. Those states decided it was time to unite and "abolish" the rule of a government that did not represent the people. Their stand began a course and struggle for freedom known no where else in the world.

As I sit and study the actions of many modern elected officials, it causes me great concern. It appears that many of our "Governments instituted among Men" seem to have forgotten they "derive their powers from the consent of the governed". There seems to be more time spent disagreeing with each other and pushing personal agendas than standing up for you and me on principle.

Having spent my years living, working and serving throughout this great America; I have met many citizens who feel they have no representation...no voice. Many of our grandparents, parents, friends, co-workers, employers, employees and children express dissatisfaction.

Neighbors; we must return to that which made us great. We must take back the authority of our government and hand it to the rightful owners…to the people in the communities of these United States.

This journey doesn’t start in Washington, D.C. The Capital of Columbus can’t provide it. It must begin within our local governments. It is a personal revolution that ignites in our hearts and minds. It is expressed by our willingness to communicate, work together, volunteer, give and to help wherever we can.
